I think we will eventually know, but not on any timeline that will help anyone win arguments any time soon.

Maybe some details but I doubt we know the whole story and what prompted them to try it. I don’t see Chris Cooks or other senior leaders writing a tell all. Ben Riggs may spin a yarn but doesn’t mean he gets all the inside details.

I doubt the sole reason was to destroy all OGL products and he probably wrongly through that they were offering a lot of attractive carrots to 3PP.

as far as I remember they offered exactly zero carrots, unless you consider having to pay 5% less in the first year for signing on fast a carrot

Reviewing those old documents should take no time at all, let alone two years from when they said they were going to do it. Even in the midst of releasing 5.2E, there's no reason for it to take that long.

There is a reason it is taking them 2 years to put the SRD(s) into CC. I assume you don't like that reason because you are complaining about it.

It's more correct to say that I'm pointing out that their reason doesn't make sense, and other people are complaining because they don't like that.
