Right now, I don't think I'll be picking it up. Of course, the last handheld console I owned was the original GameBoy, so I guess that might say something right there.
Online play doesn't interest me at all, and never has with handhelds. Finding people to play with has always been a chore, and if I really want the multiplayer aspect, I'd rather hop on my computer or get a bunch of people over in front of a big-screen tv.
Playing music doesn't interest me at all either. I already have an mp3-cd player, and I really see no reason why I would need something with worse battery life to play music. Which the mp3 player probably does better anyway, being a dedicated device and all.
Movies... alright, this is kind of nifty, if it can play normal DVDs. I could definitely see being on a long bus/train/plane ride and watching a movie or two.
Battery life sucks, but on a long trip I really don't see why you can't just keep a couple extra rechargeable batteries in your briefcase/backpack/suitcase/purse/whatever. It's not optimal, but it certainly not a deal breaker, for me at least.
