Who's going to Gen Con?

Ok I'm sort of oganising a trip to Gen Con for myself and some friends. The problem is this is the first time any of us have gone.

I'm sure a lot of folks here have been and i was hoping for some advice on argements.

Also I was wondering if we'll be seeing any fellow EN Worlders at the Con.

I was thinking of going - isn't it moving to Indianapolis this year? If so, it means I'm about 4-5 hours closer. Me and at least one player would like to go. It sounds like fun. Never been to a con before.

Sorry Maddman, it's not coming to Indy till next year. I'll wait till then to go as it will greatly simplify my travel arrangements! :D

I'm going!!! I went for my 1st time last year and it was by far the best vacation Ive been on in a loooong time! Driving this time though.... travel by air = bad. A nice 12 hour drive *sigh*

One of the nights there I'm going to start up an all night D20 game.. haven't decided which yet... who needs sleep!!! thats what those 1 liter Mnt. Dew mugs are for!

My wife and I will be there. I just got back from Orlando and convinced a bunch of my friends there to go. Since this will be the last one in Milwaukee, I have a feeling it's going to be the best yet.

As far as arrangements, I hope you've already got a place to stay, otherwise you'll be driving to the convention and back.

My plans are to play in as many games as possible, talk to as many exhibitors and artists as possible, and to run a one-shot adventure (not sure if it will be Cthulu, Star Wars, or D&D, so many choices...) during the evenings.

Maybe we can badger Piratecat into running a Paranoia game one evening for us ENBoarders?

Anyone recommend flying over car or train?

I recommend flying over driving, but I've never been by train. If you're staying far from the convention hall though, driving might be better .

Now is a good time to buy plane tickets, btw.
