Why Are There No Reviews of 4th Edition Material?

As for why I, as a staff reviewer, don't have any reviews of the 4E material, it's rather simple: the 4E game doesn't seem like anything I'd enjoy, and thus it's not anything I'd choose to spend my own money on. Likewise, for its part, Wizards of the Coast has apparently decided to stop sending me material to review.

So, it looks like I'll be the slightly-out-of-touch staff reviewer who continues to review 3.5 products (fortunately, I've got a lot of 3.5 WotC books that I've purchased myself that will keep me busy for awhile).

Nothing wrong with dat. I still have quite a few 3.5 products I'm going to be throwing into the system myself. I threw a few of 'em into RPG.net for a while.

In terms of Wizards of the Coast reviews for 4e though, doesn't look like that'll be happening. I don't have enough time to review the stuff I'm offered much less the stuff I buy. Heck, I'm still trying to find time for Forges of the Mountain King and Isle of the Sea Drake.

That'd be two of us... though in my case, I am batting around some reviews for non-D&D/D20 products. Hope that someone gets use out of that.

This isn't the same as a full-review but. I found the FRPG to be for me a non-FR player to be extremely handy and nice to have, it is almost a PHB 1.5, because of the amount of crunch that is within it.

I think it is a very, very good purchase for both FR-fans and non-FR-fans.

On a side note: they have it seems recently gotten some new artist who have done some amazing artwork in the FRPG.

Hey glad ya enjoyed the book, art was nice, But as a long time FR fan I would never call it an FR book. New setting they just reused names is all.

Not slamming ya for liking it , to each his own after all.

Isn't this entire site basically just one big 4th edition review? There are topics here ranging from every possible aspect of the game and what people like or don't like.

Problem is that lots of people do not read every thread, so a review is much more handy and quicker, if they need some info about a product.

reward suggestion

I really need to work out how to set up some kind a system whereby people get rewarded in some way for posting reviews.

How about points that can used as credit to be applied to EN Publishing products (e.g, $5 worth of credit per review)? I'll write /submit sixty+ to get that WotBS HC ;)

One of the strongest features of this site was for me the huge database of reviews on products. What happend to the vast majority of them?

It seems a real shame to mean that for whatever reason all that work and knowledge has gone from the site.

Maybe thats another reason new reviews ae slowing coming. The previous reviewers are just a bit miffed or despondent that the work has gone.

It isn't gone. It's all still there in the review section under "old reviews data", albeit somewhat jumbled. They're being organized slowly.
