Why are you still here?

You say this like it's a negative thing.
Nope. I say it like its a fact.
It may be the greatest thing that ever happened. Or it may be that 4E is to RPGs what Catwoman was to comics movies. Probably somewhere in between.

If I were truly anti-4E than my answer would be,

"Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

But since I am still a dedicated fence sitter, the real reason is to learn more about the new game. In truth I will probably convert to 4E somewhere in the future (2009-2010) as others I play with or will play with want to do it.

As a DM new players will be just joining the game at 4E so if I want new players I have to be accessible to them. I can still DM in 3E mode, or even AD&D mode for already existing players.

As a plyer, I go where the DM leads me, if he leads me to 4E and I want to play in his game, I will learn and play 4E (warts and all, j/k).

Call it curiosity. For those of you who have stated that you will not ever buy 4th Edition. Why are you still here? I don't mean on ENWorld, just the 4th Edition subforum.
I think watching nerdrage, weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth is amusing. :D

Actually, because I'm still very interested in what 4e does, honestly. Plus, I can lift some of its better ideas as houserules in my continuing 3.5 games.

for me its kinda like a car wreak i just cant stop looking . i really should half of it just ticks me off the other half is meh. and then theres that part of me that wants 4e to be good and d&d to do well even though its nothing i want to run and not what i think of when i want to run a d&d game . and really just watching the pro-4e folks beating there cheast saying tog like new rule ..tog can not be killed by monster...tog is god of pawnage.sorry i amuse easy :D

Slightly differently in the sense of they're both RPGs. The differences between 3.5 and 4E are miniscule compared to the differences between, say, D&D 3.5 and Settlers. Both are games, and both groups who play them are gamers.

Considering how much flack RPGers take from outside the hobby, it always surprises me how easily we turn on each other. "You want a simpler rule set? I laugh at you!"
Oh, that canard. No wonder you're so confused.

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that all "gamers" are the same should be united or something. That's like trying to say that all "sports fans" are the same.

Neither is correct. They're all just "people". (I'm not a "gamer" - I just play D&D. I'm not a "sports fan" - I just like football [and specifically Canadian football, at that.] Just a couple of examples among many...)

I posted earlier, but I'll add on:

You never know who is listening. Most of us are not playtesters/designers for the current proposed revision, but a well-thought out suggestion or otherwise valid critique made here may just change the game before final publication.
