No, you didn't really do it right. Category pages shouldn't contain content (or not that much content, at least).

Pick a name for the encounter/adventure and create a new page with that name (by searching for the name and clicking the "make this page" link). Paste your content into that page and add this at the bottom:

[[Category:3e Adventures]]

That will add your page to the category, and it will automatically show up when you visit the category page.

None of this made any sense to me. I don't understand what you are writing.

Walk me through it from clicking on EnWiki, otherwise I simply won't get it. Do I edit the category again? How do I do a search or a new page, since neither command is there.

Edit the category. Copy everything into notepad or someplace else where you can get it, then delete the whole thing. The category page doesn't need anything on it at all.

In the sidebar of any page, type "Fire (Encounter)" (or whatever other name you want) into the search box and hit "Go". It will tell you there is no page by that name and there will be a link you can click on to create the page. Click it.

Paste what was originally in the category into this page. At the very bottom, add a line that says:

[[Category:3e Adventures]]

Save the page. That's it. It'll automatically add a link to your page to the 3e Adventures category page.

I did add something. (Search for it yourself.)

It is too darn slow.

I'm waiting to see what being editable really means for a work. We have at least one admitted Wikipedia vandal here at EN World, after all, and possibly more who don't brag about it.

Cheers, -- N

I posted up an entry in the 3e classes. It is just a link for now, with the categories fixed, but I will come back to it and place the text into the page. Still, I find it exceedingly slow, and there is still a bit of a learning curve that I must get over.

Thanks. That's exactly the kind of step-by-step instruction needed early on the site to guide new posters. It's not an intuitive process for adding new content.

I have nothing worth posting. (Well, not literally nothing, but almost nothing.) I think we were asked to submit something that is "open content" but I don't know what that means. Does it mean something I've made myself?

I don't want to be logged out of here, and I read in a thread that visiting the wiki can delete your cookies. (All of them? Just for ENWorld? Has that been fixed?)

I have almost no time; I'm already running a StarCraft wiki. (And I'm quite familiar with wiki technology.)

It logged you out of here only, asking you to log back in; took a couple of seconds only. EN World is unable to delete all of your cookies! :D

It has been fixed, anyhow.
