I like the smell.

One of my players, while digging through his stuff, ran across a character sheet from my first OD&D game, circa 1976. A mimeographed character sheet.I'm building a time machine just so I can go back to the 70s and sniff warm dittos again.
Mmmm. Purple ditto ink!![]()
At first, I thought it was just I had never owned such a new RPG hardcover before, but now it's been a few weeks, and my books still smell bad. I got them from different places. I would describe the smell as "cedar chest, with subtle notes of nail polish and burnt rubber." It has been noticeably fading, but it makes my eyes water sometimes when I open my Bestiary quickly.
We are talking about a country that has companies that put poison into children medicines and lead into childrens toys. So who knows what "mystery ingredient" they may be putting into their ink.
