Your poll doesn't include what I think is probably the most common reason that people play d20 games:

Because D&D is a d20 game.

Do you like D&D? The the answer "I honestly like d20 games" should have been your choice.
Come on people... it shouldn't be this hard. :\

Your poll doesn't include:

"The d20 system is one of my favorites, and for various reasons (such as better support, my players feeling comfortable with it, or so on) is the one I currently use most often."

Which would have been my answer, instead of the:

"The d20 system isn't my fave, only better supported."

which implies that I don't like d20 as well as I like other game systems, but play it anyway due to the support.

Voted: The d20 system isn't my fave, only better supported .

I really dig the support for the system, but, as time goes on, I find that I don't NEED the support as much anymore and am, quite frankly, getting irritated at how much "support" my players are bring to the table (in an IRC sense). Funny thing is, my players are starting to feel the say way.

My favorite system is GURPS, but it doesn't do D&D-style as well as D&D does. ;) Chances are that we're all just getting a little burned out on d20. Burn-out is what got us off of GURPS for a while. I suspect that once GURPS 4e hits the streets, we'll switch for a while. Then switch back. Then switch again. You get the picture.

Three reasons...

1. Clean and easy mechanics
1A. Easily add more detail to processes
2. Plenty of options compliments of 3rd Party Publishers and Fans
3. I can put all of my rules online without getting slammed with a lawsuit

It is if the poll has limited and poorly explained options (many implying something that the responder does not wish them to imply - see others' responses).

For example, I like d20 best - for the fantasy/medieval genre only. That's not the same as "I honestly like d20 beter (sic) than any other system", which is untrue (I like at least one other system better, for a different genre).

So, how do I respond? (Based on what is given in the poll, the appropriate response is "Other"... though I could have chosen the first one if I wanted to posit that (IMO) - regardless of what other publishers try to release - d20 is for the fantasy/medieval genre only, and everything else is simply being shoe-horned in. Again, that's only my opinion.)

d20/D&D is my favorite.

I've tried other systems (rolemaster, feng shui, champions).

For me, none of those were nearly as enjoyable as D&D, and since D&D is the only game I play, d20 is naturally my favorite. :)

I really do like d20, it is a good system but it is not my favorite, which is the Earthdawn system. D20 is supported and flexable, it is the shear volumn of products that keeps me interested.

Voted: Other. I'm new(ish) to D20. I (and other players in my group) find it too rule heavy and arbitrary and we end up playing it without most of the rules. D20 isn't bad, but it's not my favorite either. We're playing D20 now because we're experimenting with it while our regular GM takes a break.
