smart- NO, but imaginative- YES.

I like to be able to think of far off fantasy lands, where magic abilities causes people to fly, blast fireballs, and teleport...

and life is a lil boring..... Me no rikee real life.

well, i wouldn't play with people i didn't like, so that's part of it: hanging out with the guys. plus i've always liked sci-fi and fantasy movies and stories so i guess it was inevitable for me to get into DnD. you kinda get to want to play out similar roles/situations.

of course being creative also lends itself to gaming. it's also a great excercise for me coz i'm an actor. i tend to play a lot of "normal" characters now so i can explore how they might react to the bizarre situations that a fantasy world throws at them. :)

I checked several reasons, but I also checked "other", so I will explain.

I'm the only woman in the gaming group. Being surrounded by intelligent, articulate(well, mostly!) men all weekend is a big turn-on. My husband reaps the benefits when we get home.

I think it's a great way of socializing with friends in a creative environment. There's lots of ways to do that but RPG's excel because they lack the disadvantage of ther ways of socializing. It's easier to talk than at a movie or a club. It's got continuity unlike a normal board game, and it's creative unlike most everything else.

Gossamerblade... were that more women were like you !! I tell my girlfriend that getting turned on is always good no matter how... and she never believes me !! I wish we had more women gamers...

Honestly, this sounds really weird, but they feel... right. Probably because I always used to play pretend when I was a kid, and this was just the logical extension of it.

Some people think they're weird and the only thing that runs through my brain is, "Of course they exist. Why didn't someone think of them sooner?!?"
