Why do you like to play?

For me it's because it's much easier to immerse yourself when playing a single character than when trying to DM.

Because it's fun. I would rather play an RPG with a good group than play video games or other leisure time activities.

To immerse myself in a story, that's why. Though having a damn good time with people whose company I enjoy is also often a part of it.

It's fun. I have to say though that one big benefit of being a player is that I get to see other GMs do their stuff, and learn handy tricks. Playing makes me a better GM.

And not having the responsibility of making it good enough to justify other people's time commitments.

Because when I play I don't know what will happen and have to figure that out by myself, to overcome challenges and to experience the world through the eyes of my character.
