Why do you play RPGs?

I enjoy the creativity of it.

I enjoy the amateur theatrics of RPG's.

I enjoy the ass kicking and die rolling.

I'm not sure what order those three should go in.

Oh and I enjoy endlessly arguing/discussing completely unimportant minutia from games with complete strangers.

Mostly it is a creative outlet for me, but I also relish the social aspect of it. I find it more entertaining than other diversions.

I like to hang with friends, doing something casual and imaginative, where everyone has right to do things in their own. Sharing jokes and trying (and often succeeding) to have fun.

Stories have always been important for me, and cooperative story is even more fun!

Why do you like RPGs?

There's a lot to like.

It's uniquely entertaining, creatively and intellectually stimulating, emotionally engaging, limitless except by chosen limits... and, when it comes down to it, really hard to put into words!

But, um, it rocks. Yeah.

Viscerally, at the gut level, what do you seek when you think of gaming, whatever the genre?

To enable an intriguing, exciting, perplexing, rewarding experience - like no other!

Or, when the stars are aligned just so , to take part as a player in one, to give it my all, to explore, discover, understand, resolve, communicate, express, enjoy.

I don't even really like RPGs. I only play them because I'm in the witness protection agency and my cover is that I'm to pretend to be a Dungeon Master. I go by the alias Oryan O'Brian & I have never talked to a real girl before, except for my mother, who lives upstairs. She's not my real mother though, it's part of the act.

So far I think I've managed to assimilate myself within the RPG community quite well.

Tis a shame you could not stay straight.....

The government provides me with the miniatures to bolster my cover. They set the prices and I honestly have no idea what I'm doing. People just tell me what they want and I mail it to them. I don't even know what these little plastic toys are for. You guys really like to play with dolls?
