Because you haven't told it to.

On my iPhone so can't post link, but it's in your settings somewhere.

I believe it is under Settings: Group Memberships

Settings and then Group Memberships. You can choose to be identified as a member of the Silver Sub group.

Cheers I thought it would be automatic.

The email subscription is working again for me, first time in ages, which is also nice. Quite funny in that all it gave was the first line so I got Morrus said "Because you haven't told it to." to which I thought thanks for nothing buddy!
