Why is everything twice as big?

Hi,

Everything in the OP is wrong.

A door or bed is exactly the size the DM says it is.

Average European male height is 5' 8" - 5' 11" depending upon country.

This thread enrages me. We had enough fake news in 2018, don't start the New Year like this!

I had considered adding this point, except that the OP did not specify "average *adult* European male." All those male babies do bring the average down. Not to mention male European swallows.

Anyway,

Ken

Hi,

And it would convert well to metric.

That is reason enough for any true, red-blooded American to immediately disqualify your proposal!

Metric? You will pry our feet and inches out of our cold, dead hands.

After our guns.

We have big hands. The average American hand occupies a 5' cube.

Hi,

It gets even bigger in metric. D20 Modern went with 2-metre squares. I don't get why they didn't shrink it down to 1 metre . . . and that made me kinda wish they shrank the 5 foot square down to 1 yard.

More history, or rather, historical re-enactment!

In this instance, you have dressed up as Steve Jackson, who went with 1 yard hexes for GURPS.

In the opposite corner is the Hero System, who went with 2.

Anyway,

Ken
