Every time diaglo posts, just imagine this guy saying it:

I have less of a problem with the whole Number nomeclature then I do with the name of the game itself. It maybe called Dungeons and Dragons
but it reality is not and is a complete new and diffrent game. Why they called it 3rd edition boogles me to this day because it isn't. It is the D20 fanatsy system to go along with the D20 Scifi, Super Hero, Modern, Horror, yada yada yada.

I like it. 3e D&D (v3.5) is just as intuitive a nomenclature as my OS of choice, Mac OS X 10.3.1 ("Panther") ;)
Now, there's an idea! Instead of 3.5, 4.0, or anything of the such, WotC should be using codenames for their releases.

Man, I can't wait to get my hands on D&D: Dire Weasel in 2006.

Yeah... and I wish them all the luck in the world to determine what the hell that is...
Heh. When you look at it, it is kinda sad how fractured the D&D community really is. Makes me wonder how we all at one point liked 3e back in 2000.

As for the 1974 D&D, I don't think I'd go way back to the basic. I like how 3e has evolved. Asking me to go back to 1974 D&D is like asking me to use 8-Tracks when I can use CDs or Audio DVDs.
