Why isn't this an RPG?

I always wondered about that whole franchise. I mean, if the guy was named "Man-at-arms" you kind of wonder what his parents had for him as aspirations at birth, and what would they have done if he had become an interior decorator?

That reminds me of a bit from the recent "Smurfs" movie (ah what we do for our kids):

Patrick: "Okay, to review: You guys come from a magic forest where you live in oversized mushrooms."
Papa Smurf: "Yes."
Patrick: "You're being chased by an evil wizard."
Papa Smurf: "Yea."
Patrick: "And you're trapped in New York until there's a blue moon."
Papa Smurf: "Very good."
Patrick: "And you like to use the extremely imprecise term 'Smurf' for just about everything."
Brainy Smurf: "Smurf-xactly!"
Patrick: "And you're all named after your personalities? Do you get your names when you're born or after you've exhibited certain traits?"

I seriously thought of doing a fan made setting of Masters of the Universe based on last reboot, 2000 series.

I like to see a new version of Buck Rogers which i know WotC did one back in the 80's.

Resident Evil, Silent Hill (maybe), FEAR, and the few survival horror games would good as RPGs.

Gears of War, Halo, Fallout would good as well.

The problem is getting the licensing of any property to do table top games is tough.

Uh, Man-At-Arms was his title. His name was Duncan. The thing that is wierd is nearly everyone had a title. He-Man, Battle-Cat, Sorceress, about the only ones I can think of who didn't is Teela; and Now here's one where you would have a point.... Bo(w).

Regency England.

I think it would be a great setting for an RPG, especially one that focused on social rules. I guess it hasn't been done yet (at least not that I can find) because it's a sub-genre of Romance.

Most of the Regency period RPGs I've heard of cover quite specific areas. Duty and Honour (army officers in the Napoleonic wars), Beat to Quarters (navy officers) and Courtesans (guess). GURPS has a historical sourcebook (Age of Napoleon, I think), and also GUPRS: Goblins which is a rather fantastic "Regency London with goblins" book.

Well the Sorceress did have a real name, Teela Na which was revealed in the 80's cartoon and technically He-man and Battle-Cat are considered titles in way.

Exactly, my point! The only one I remember who didn't have a title, is Teela.
Who I believe is Duncan(Man-At-Arms) and Teela(Sorceress') daughter.

Yeah, but all that was ret-con - when the toys came out (long before the cartoon) they were all named what they were named. The "proper" names came later.

But even at that, Skele-tor... I mean, what was his mom's name... Skele-mom, Skele-babe, Skele-she, Skele-her ???

Don't get me wrong, the whole naming conventions of the 80s toy/cartoon world was pretty lame. Even the D&D toys were named a little wonky...
