Why no psionic healing abilities?

To avoid stepping on the toes of clerics. Psions can heal themselves, though, and have access to scads of temporary hit points.

Psions can heal themselves and also absorb damage from their party members. In effect, it's the same thing. There's also a Psionic PrC in the Mind's Eye articles that allows you to heal others.

Psions and psychic warriors can both heal, so I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about. They're not very good at it, but they can do it.

But no problem stepping on the toes of wizards?

For some reason,(in fact, I think I saw this as an argument as to why wizards can't heal) the ability to heal is supposed the sole domain of divine magic.

Not counting 3.0 bards.

But, yeah. There seems to be no Protection form toe stepping spell up for the wizards.

But psionic classes can heal, after a fashion, in a few different ways. Just never in a single round, with a single power.

Oh, they can heal someone else in a single round using Empathic Transfer. It's just that the person doing the healing will need to heal themselves next round.
