Why the "Ampersand indicates Death Spiral" meme is funny.

I think Wizards is taking Dancey's advice (in parts) and it is informing their current "senseless" moves.

Look at his death spiral bullet points?

OGL: Well, yes, Wizards hasn't changed this one.

PDF: Well, yeah, although I have a suspicion we'll be seeing ebooks soon.

Online: Wizards hasn't abandoned it, they've been hammering on it more and more.

Evergreen: Essentials

RPGA: Yes, that is withering, but they are trying to replace it with a more acquisition friendly D&D Encounters.

Quality: Arguable... They've increased fluff though which is not an indicator of decreased quality. I think the art/dollar and words/dollar are dropping.

Consistency: They've moved control of rules to a more tightly focused R&D, and made a massive push to bring everything to one solid baseline in the Rules Compendium.

Traumatic rebirth, meaning that someone, somewhere finds some way to cut out the cancers that are eating the tabletop game and restarts the mass market business for D&D.

We are here. This is the trauma. We don't know if this will save D&D from 1 or 2 yet, but we don't know.

I once did this as a child. I told my sister "soon, you''ll fall down", waited for a year and a half, and when she finally fell i was all

I admit that i shied away from cutting out any cancers, however.

Two Year Old Thread

Nice. Conjured-up a two year old post from the Internet. Might as well have quoted something from a bathroom stall. All speculation, unqualified opinion and conjecture.

Yea, this whole "Is the sky falling, isnt it falling?" threads are just putting me to sleep. I post only the hope that someone will read this and realize that there are people in the forums that are just over it, and wish these waste of time threads would just stop.

WOTC dies or doesnt...D&D is sold or isnt....I DONT CARE!!! Even in a worst case scenario we have so much material that we can keep playing 4e 10 years after D&D is dead, so I will keep playing and pray people stop putting pointless doomsayer threads up.
