Wicked Ones is now free.

I've decided to make my game, Wicked Ones, available for free! You can grab it here: Wicked Ones: Free Edition. Grab a copy to start building dungeons with your friends, just look at all the awesome art in the book (there's a ton!), or use the GM and player advice and tools the book has for your other campaigns.

Wicked Ones is a Forged in the Dark tabletop RPG about a group of fantasy monsters building a dungeon, launching raids on the surface to gather a hoard, and pursuing your nefarious master plan. Along the way, there's pillaging, rituals, concoctions, contraptions, discoveries deep in the ground, dungeon rooms, traps, creatures, minions, and so much more! You build your dungeon over time throughout the campaign and no two dungeons will ever be alike. The free version is the full version of the game - 325 pages of full-color content, over 50 full-page illustrations (and tons of other small ones!). It includes everything you need to start building dungeons with your friends. The free version is the fully playable version of the game.

If you'd like a bit of extra content or want it in Hardcover, you can also check out the Deluxe Edition to get:
  • Three extra sandboxes, detailed regions with high-quality maps, that give you interesting places to build your dungeon, along with factions and goals for each.
  • Four primal monsters, monsters that are a bit less "normal" than "a big orc with an axe" and require a bunch of unique mechanics of their own. This was incredibly fun to design and adds a lot of interesting new systems to the game, such as Goldmongers (dragons) and their growth paths, Braineaters (tentacled monstrosities) and their psionic disciplines, Facestealers (dopplegangers) slipping unseen amongst the civilized races, or Doomseekers (floating eyeballs) stuck in their dungeons but able to lay incredibly intricate plans.
  • Hundreds of digital assets. I converted all of the art in the book into digital tokens for use with online play - plus you get high-resolution versions of each sandbox map. Adventurer, imp, monster tokens along with clocks, dice, and set decoration pieces.
  • Dungeon generator to help build quick dungeons Wicked Ones-style for use in other games.

You can also drop by the Discord to look for a group or check out play reports of in-progress campaigns.

Sorry for the bit of advertising. I'm just eager to help grow our community and see more games of WO being ran. Would love to talk about the game or hear the stories of anyone who's played it!

That is mighty generous of you. I'm excited to read it. It may even inspire me to finish my FitD hack about playing low-key gangs of villains in Batman's Gotham.
