Yeah, it's bad. I bought it by mistake (I was in a rush and needed Deadlands for a one-shot; by mistake I bought the d20 version). I felt so stupid I didn't even try to take it back. :)

So should I save myself money and just buy Forgotten Archtypes: the Gunslinger? I'm just trying to inject a western feel into a standard D&D campaign.

Warlord, the original Deadlands setting is brilliant, with great world and background material- truly and inspired game. I have EVERY original Deadlands product ever released, and they are some of the most cherished RPG books I have. The D20 Deadlands is absolute drek- it completely fails to capture the feel of Deadlands, and was more of a marketing ploy to bring Deadlands to the D20 audience (which is a good thing), but it was done poorly. Which is a shame- that setting deserves to live on with active support.
