Wil Wheaton mentions Mongoose PDF in his blog

Yeah, but I bet he's still getting flaks for being Wesley Crusher, the "boy who saved Enterprise(-D)."
Not from us. The only people who still give him a hard time about that are people who don't know him. It's not that he'd mind if we joked around about it, it's just that it's ground that was covered a long, long time ago and we don't need to go back.

On another note, Samothdm, does Wil post here? You probably can't say, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.
Nope. I think he may have posted here a couple times three or four years ago in one of the "celebrities that play D&D threads" or something, but I know he doesn't post here now (he spends waaaay too much time on the Internet to add another set of message boards to read).

Anyway, not having any shoes at all, he chose to just wear them - instead of selling them. Now, in the picture, these things are covered in slime and algae! He wore these until like level 20 or something until he finally acquired something magical.
I did a similar thing, and will never forget someone clicking me to check out my equipment and laughing, then yelling to the zone "Hey! Look at this guy's shoes!" Reminded me of a real life episode in elementary school. :p

Hey, glad to hear you guys made a good setting choice. ;) Wil should post a Story Hour over at www.pathsoflegend.org next to mine...dueling Wils. :)

I've been toying with posting my version of the campaign as a story hour (I'm a player in this one, not the DM). The DM makes us write our character's POV of each session as a diary-style entry. Those who actually write their diary entry receive an action point. We've only played two sessions so far. Everyone wrote their diary for the first session and we have about a week and a half to finish our entry before the next session.

The DM suggested I use mine as a story hour. I haven't read Wil's - right now, we're not allowed to read each other's diaries because they contain secrets.

My character's a night elf bard and he has a very funny outlook on everyone else in the group. So far, he doesn't really like Wil's Tiefling (aka "the Hellspawn").

EDIT: Actually, he doesn't really like anybody in the group. He just sort of tolerates them to see what they can do for him.

That's funny, one player in my split-group game is playing both a night elf and a tiefling, neither of which is particularly likable. Must come with the territory, what is it with those races? :)

The night elf and tiefling's mutual dislike is nothing. Another PC is a lowlander witch whose parents were killed by the Dominion. She actually tried to have the Tiefling killed the first session. She eventually calmed down and decided that this tiefling wasn't involved, but they still haven't spoken to each other. Meanwhile, the party healer is a trueborn, and the tiefling won't let her touch him.

See, this is why I tried to be a helper and acquire some healing potions from the Church of the Green Man - for the greater good of the party.

Instead, I got thrown in prison by lowsy night-elf hatin' guards.

Hehe, in my game one of my players is a trueborn disciple who HATES the dawn elves, because they killed his parents. Sucks for the rest of the party that the portal they just opened put them smack dab in the middle of the Sildanyr about 80 miles southwest of Ersevor. :D Here's a good exchange from yesterday's game:

"Man, that town of dawn elves wasn't very helpful."

"Yeah, could have something to do with the disciple pointing at every passerby mumbling "you rotten bastard."

:D

To be a Devil's advocate, is this thread some form of propaganda to allay any concern about Wil's having to get a column in the Dungeon magazine?

Probably not. What concerns could there be? He's a nerd who can write--and his writings are fairly entertaining.

Samothdm - You ought to ask Wil if he minds being quoted for the product blurb on RPGNow.com (along with a "Dungeon Magazine columnist" tag after his name).

Congrats on the writing credit, btw! :)
