Wild West/Victorian

I'm thinking of starting up a campaign set in the latter half of the 19th century, and I'm wondering what 28mm-30mm scale miniatures the experts would recommend. I prefer metal miniatures (as I love to paint), but really anything will do as long as they don't look horrible.

So, who has the best sculpts out there?

As in my reply to your Star Wars thread, check out Foundry. They've got a sizeable Wild West line, and a few Victorian minis as well (a lot of those are hidden in their "Darkest Africa" line).

Old Glory/West Wind nhas the best bang for the buck both in their Cowboy and Vampire Wars lines.

Both companies ranges also mix well with Foundry. All three will be smaller than any Deadland figures you encounter though.
