Wildshape and attacks

First Post
Hi all, I'm not posting much but now I have a question (or two or ...). I can't find a solution to my problem in previous topics (maybe i just didn't see it. As usual.)

OK. I am a druid 12th level and I am wildshaped (direlion).

a) -Now how many attacks do I have ? 3 from the direlion (+2 only with rake) or just as many as I have as druid ?

b) -With which attack bonus ? First claw equals second claw and hind claws but the bite is at -5. But with what numbers ? The standard direlion stats or my BAB(druid) +STR(direlion) ?

c) -What if I attack just with the right claw because Greater Magic Fang works just on 1 natural weapon ?

d) -Or does GMF works with one casting on all 4 claws because they are the same natural weapon (type) and have the same attack bonus. (Seems a bit unbalancing in respect to Greater Magic Weapon on quarterstaff or doublesword).

A little bit confusing to me. I have questions concerning awakened animals with characterlevels, too, but that's another topic ... :)

Thanks for answers in advance.

a) Three attacks, in this case. You get attacks as per the creature you wild shape into.

b) Claws: Druid BAB + Str + Size modifier
Bite: Druid BAB + Str + Size modifier - 5 (for secondary attacks)

c) Then you get just the one attack, IMO (can't think of a specific reference for this one). The animal's body is designed to use the various natural weapons once per round.

d) Only affects one natural weapon. So bite, or one claw, etc.

What is your reasoning for (G)MF only affecting one claw or bite ?

I agree with you but had a very hard time convincing others of this.

Magic Fang

Transmutation
Level: Drd 1, Rgr 1
Components: V, S, DF
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Touch
Target: Living creature touched
Duration: 1 minute/level
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)

Magic fang gives one natural weapon of the subject a +1 enhancement bonus to attack and damage rolls. The spell can affect a slam attack, fist, bite, or other natural
weapon. (The spell does not change an unarmed strike’s damage from subdual damage to normal damage.) If the character is a good druid, the natural weapon is
considered blessed, which means it has special effects on certain creatures.

Greater Magic Fang is as Magic Fang but with a greater bonus. That is why it only affects one natural weapon.

A 12th lv druid Wild Shaped into a Dire Lion would have this attack sequence: 2 Claws +15, Bite +10 (claws +9 BAB, +7 Str, -1 Size) (Bite +9 BAB, +7 Str, -1 Size, -5 secondary natural weapon)

I think Urbanmech covered it above. The spell specifically says "one natural weapon".

"Magic fang gives one natural weapon of the subject a +1 enhancement bonus to attack and damage rolls."

I'd say that line of the spell would answer your question Brekki.

I totally agree :)

The funny thing is that at Monte Cook's messageboard they didn't get it, no matter what I tried.

How would you do this for the monk ? Do all his attacks get the bonus ? (since a monk can make all his attacks with one hand, but gets a penalty when he does)

When I think about you, I touch myself.

It is a good thing Eric's Grandmother doesn't understand inuendo or you would be a bad dog...

I'm not sure how Magic Fang and a Monk would interact. I would probably be lenient on the Monk and say that the spell enchants their entire body. I know that ruling seems to contradict how I would play it for animals/monsters but they have a Natural attack rate and a Monk is tied to his BAB. Besides Monks need some magical help to be really effective.
