When my earth-and-stone-based druid casts greater magic fang, there's a mineral theme to it: we say that it turns the affected natural weapon into living diamond. This also makes it difficult to disguise the natural weapon, but that's okay; it's fun flavor text. It does mean that whatever form you change into, you'll retain that living diamong part of your body. (In some forms, it's not very useful; if I GMFed my left hand and then wildshaped into a snake, I'm outta luck).
Balancewise, it doesn't make much sense to limit a druid like this: it's a druid spell, and it's a pretty necessary spell for a druid who wants to be effective in combat.
