Wildshape Question

Lord Pendragon

First Post
Well, my PC is about to get access to Polymorph Self and the DM's ruled (at my urging) to keep the spell in its semi-original form. Still errata'ed to prevent Outsider/Undead/Construct forms, but allowing multiple shapes with a single casting. As I see it, the original PHB was playtested better than any other product in the line, and the original spell must have been pretty balanced.

So long as players aren't looking for ways to abuse the system, Polymorph Self is fine allowing multiple forms. If there are abusers about, then the one-form rule is necessary...I suppose. (I still don't see how nerfing it down to one form prevents any sort of abuse, but I'm willing to entertain the idea.)

On the original subject, as everyone's already said, the answer is 'yes.'

And I've always seen the advantage to Wildshape over Polymorph Self being that the Druid gets it for free. A wizard spends a fourth-level spell slot for a slightly better effect.
