Wildshape stat question

I checked this place for an hour now, and I couldn't find anyone talking about this, so here goes...

Now that MotW is out, someone wants to play a Druid. But with Wildshape, do the physical stats become the AVERAGE of the creature like Polymorph Self, or is it the stats as if you rolled up that creature? It doesn't specify in MotW, yet in the Polymorph spell, it goes out of its way to save "average".

Having average stats for the creature you become and "beefed up PC stats" are a huge difference...

Just curious what everyone else does.

Thanks
Chris

Average creatures physical stats... while maintaining Mental stats. Since most Druids have good Wisdom at the least and usually a modicum of charisma and Int they usually keep good mental stats. An "average" bear is usually still very strong...

Just so. This becomes interesting if your druid also has levels of monk, because he can add his wisdom to AC in a wildshaped form, and gets to keep his high wisdom to do so. At mid-levels, this is better than Mage Armor on that animal form. And even better yet...it stacks with Mage Armor...
