The answer about 4e is.......NO. They have a lot of products scheduled through 2008.

That is surely a sure fire concrete example of an undeniable indication that all cards are on the table for an immediate and complete release of the fourth edition of D&D.

I mean, what else could it mean? :]

EDIT: Come to think of it, even before reading Abyssal Maw's excellent live update I was reminded of MacWorld. There's live updates there as well, and if WotC get a couple of D&D Experiences under their belt they'll probably improve on the presentations.

Another thing ... at MacWorld the audience cheers when products are announced. The D&D fan community cheers when product is NOT announced ... strange, really. That way every day is a happy day for a D&D fan, since 4i isn't announced that day! :)

For the D&D mini players out there, I believe that the Drizzt and Wulfgar minis will be tournament legal. I'm not sure if the Drizzt mini is a new mini or just a resculpt though.

New mini, from what I understand.

Cheers!

D&D needs a Steve Jobs. I mean who is really in charge of D&D? Whoever it is, we never hear from him.

Indeed. Its weird that we hear more from Charles Ryan and Ryan Dancey then the current D&D Brand Manager. Heck, I don't even know who it is...

D&D definately needs a big Jobs-like announcement to end XP with. It just seems like a waste to have their own con without something...

"One more thing..."

It's good to see the official word on this. I must admit I was surprised to see these rumors coming so strongly this time. Why would you be releasing a rules compendium if the whole system was going to be updated in three or four months?

You wouldn't, because you can release a 3.0 to 3.5 magnitude revision under the guise of a "Rules Compendium," making it a near-mandatory purchase while keeping the faith with fans who say they don't want to buy D&D again, but will buy the RC anyway.
