When we test it, it's going to be full-on, for at least one campaign; that way, we can see what works for us and what doesn't. There's always other campaigns to run. :)

Not for me. Of my two current campaigns one started back in 2E and got converted when 3.0E was out and the other was started in the summer of 2001 and has been running weekly since then. My campaigns usually run for years.

My goal with 3.5e is run a game that is completely compatible with the rules (so I can use eTools when the 3.5 patch comes out) but that has more of a Middle-Earthy feel than Forgotten Realmshawk. IOW, instead of changing things, I'll just be very selective about what gets in and what doesn't.

We house ruled many things in 3.0, and we'll do the same with 3.5. I like more of the changes than not, but a few things we will be adjusting to better suit the flavor of our campaigns.

Nope, we have already decided to keep Spell Focus at +2 (and throw GSF out the window). W00t!
I wouldn't be surprised if that becomes the second most common house rule in 3.5, the first being the elimination of the #!%$!#*!! paladin and monk multiclassing restriction.

BAWK!

I have no idea what I'll be doing yet. I did call Wally World and confirm that my ship date of 7/7-7/11 was still valid and it was. We'll see how it works out.

As is it is

My group will be playing 3.5 out of the box with the same house rules I use right now:

1. No Persistant Metamagic
2. Sorcerers get 4 skill points a level and access to Cha-based skills (Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, Sense Motive).
3. A roll of a 1 in close combat allows those who threaten you a chance for an AoO (BA opposed roll)

Not only am I using 3.5, I am making the characters responsible for the realignment of power and spells. I have set it up so when they complete their next adventure they will affect the flow of knowledge and magic throughout the world. =) Then they have to relearn the rules during game time as spells work differently and their abilities have changed slightly.

We'll be playing 3.5e by the rules, with one exception: no 5-10-5 movement on diagonals. I hate that FAQ ruling. Does anyone know if it made it into 3.5e?

Emphatic NO here. I run a low-magic, gritty campaign, so I already have some house rules that will carry over to 3.5. I do approve of most of the changes made to 3.5 (decreased duration of buff spells, lowered spell focus DCs, reduced threat ranges, etc), but the summonable paladin mount rubs me the wrong way. For me, its more about maintaining the campaign world's flavor, and some basic tenants of D&D don't jive with that, so I house rule them.
