Will D20 Modern work for a Stargate SG-1 Camapign?

Are there any episodes of Stargate SG1 available on either video or DVD? I saw the original movie and one or two episodes fo the tv show, but I have been thinking about running an SG1 type campaign.

Season One and Two are available as boxed sets on NTSC region 1 DVD. Seasons Two through Five are available as individual PAL Region 2 & 4 discs, usually with about 4 episodes per disc. If you're in California, you'd need a codefree/multisync DVD player or a modded Xbox to run the Region 2 discs.

For what it is worth, I am currently watching every single episode, from them beginning, on VHS. I'm taking notes on every episode, for adaptation to d20 Modern. Right now, it is just going to be a personal sourcebook for use in my own games. You would need a license in order to release it to the public.

Then again, I could just change all the names, make some tweaks, and call it SpaceGate, or The Gate, or Gateway to the Stars or something lame like that.

Spycraft to SG-1?

I think the biggest change needed would be to make the Snoop more of a generic scientist class.

Out of the box, d20 Modern may be easier for SG-1, though I would have to make an SG-1 team experienced beyond 1st level, perhaps already in Advanced Classes. The military doesn't send rookies into the SG-1 program.

... Well, they do -- but only if they are aliens!

Sound like we need to take the concept of Traveller's Prior History design rules to apply experience and background. OBTW, if you haven't heard about it by now, T20 is now available (complete with Prior History).
