Not sure if this is in bounds of the spell (but when has that ever stopped me?).
My sorcerer carries a Lantern of Revealing attached to his belt at all times. It stays unlit because the party Rogue likes to go invisible via his ring of invisibility. In the event that an opponent winks out, the sorcerer has been using prestidigitation to light the lantern (standard action as opposed to a full round action or however long it would take to light a hooded lantern). But reading the spell description, prestidigitation cannot cause damage, and fire deals damage.
Am I extrapolating too much on the description or do I need to find another way to light the lamp?
