D&D 4E Will the 4E books be "square" like Star Wars Saga?

If you can't tuck a character sheet (i.e., a standard-sized sheet of paper) between the cover and the first or last page, it's not a properly designed RPG book.

If the book were actually smaller, and still contained the same amount of material, I might agree with you. As it is, I pray they never even glance at a SWSE-shaped book again.

But that''s not going to happen either; all the books in the SWSE line are going to be square.

Ah. Well, at least those books will all match.

As it happens, though, I was speaking specifically about the D&D line. (Should've been clearer.) So it can still happen in terms of what I was talking about. :)

As I understand it, the reason the SWSE books are square is to help set them off from the other Star Wars reference works being published by Del Rey. No competition for D&D and no licensing to worry about; hence, no reason to retool the entire style of publication.

I heard they were going for the triangular shape this time, as an homage to 3rd edition (three sides). When you put all the core books together they will form a d4 die.

Honestly, I agree that best left in the traditional format. One of the reasons I didn't buy SWSE was the form factor (not a big reason but it was on my list).
