Well, I'm of two minds. If they give it the quality and care of Spyrcraft or Rogukan, great. If they do it the way they do their one word title books... look out!

Well, you'll notice the books that are thier own setting (Rogukan and Spycraft) are the detailed ones. So, I think they will do it right.

Hopefully more consistant with the core than Rokugan though.

I do not want to see Borys having 75/+7 damage reduction (metal) or something silly like that.

Ah, a slam against the First Oni and the Kusatte Iru. How quaint.

Do you know why the First Oni has stats like that? Because even high level characters aren't supposed to have a chance against him. You're not supposed to be able to kill him (which is fortunate, since he's already dead.)

Do you know what it took to kill the First Oni? It took a being born in Tengoku, the Celestial Heavens, and wielding a sword from the Celestial Heavens... and that heavenly warrior died killing the damned thing.

As far as the Kusatte Iru, the thing's the size of a small city, and it's never ever been killed. The best the people of Rokugan can manage is to knock it unconscious and make it sleep. Again, players aren't supposed to have a chance against these things.

Now, whether Borys of Ebe is supposed to be that powerful, we'll see. Considering he's an Epic-level monster (30th level, IIRC), I wouldn't be surprised if he had something akin to a conditional DR like that. Maybe not 75/+7 (metal), but I could see 50/+5(metal).

He was the equivalent of a 30th level Defiler, 30th level Psionicist, and had a bunch of other abilities (a breath weapon, only hit by +3 weapons, among other things).

So he wouldn't be as powerful as those two he wouldn't be something even high level characters should be able to take with out much difficulty.

Why not? He is on the power level of a demi-deity at least.

Personally I think the previews I have seen of the Deities and Demigods format leaves avatars rather weak.
