Will "View New Posts" be enabled later?

So far, clicking in "View New Posts" only brings up the information that the search feature was disabled. Is it be possible to enable VNP without enabling general search (which is probably too heavy on resources)? I am used to browsing the old forums via "Today's Active Topics", as this was the best indicator for which threads would still get a response if posted to. This is the one, single function I currently miss on these new boards.

Many features are currently disabled due to the amount of traffic the servers are getting. I don't know if this is one of those features, but if it is this feature should be re-enabled soon, once things quiet down.

It's all about the search function being disabled since the boards are so busy at the moment, with so many people trying out the new features. But it should be back to normal in a short while, and then search will be enabled again AFAIK.
