I'm the DM of a group that's been playing D&D together off-and-on since 1986. Throughtout this time we've mainly been on one, homemade campaign world. I think it's about time that I had the land mapped professionally.
This is where you come in, perhaps.
I'm requesting one map of approximately (small) poster size. Ideally, it would be colored, on tea-stained paper, and hand-drawn (or electronically if you can make it look customized this way). I would want it drawn to scale. I'd prefer both a hardcopy and an electronic copy if possible.
What you'd get to help finish the commission - a collection of 4-5 hand-drawn or computer generated maps of various scales and details. We (you and I) would have to work together to determine how in-depth and detailed we could/should get on a map the size I'm requesting, then go from there. I would fill in lands and/or features as required (most if not all are already mapped out).
Your payment - I've never commissioned artwork so I have no idea how much something like this would cost. If you're interested, I ask that you email me some samples (preferably maps) that you have done, and name your price. Those without samples of their work need not apply, please.
Note - I'm fairly good with basic artwork myself- but I don't want something that's just 'fairly good' because I already have that. I'm looking for someone who does this sort of thing for a job or steady hobby. Regardless, your sample work will be your measurement - if you've drawn only one map but it's awesome, then I'll pick you over Art the Artist who's drawn 50 maps each month for the past 8 years.
