Wind Walk - Is this possible?

Hello everyone,

Just a quick query as to whether the following is possible:

A Wizard casts a Monster Summoning VII bringing into being a Djinni.
The Djinni can cast a Wind Walk once per day - at 20th level mind you.
Can he cast this upon the group as per normal?
Will it last for 20 hours or will it fail when the Djinni returns to its home plane?

The Summoning description in the school and subschool section of the Magic Overview SRD states "When the spell that summoned a creature ends and the creature disappears, all the spells it has cast expire".
