Windows Messenger help.

Dark Jezter

First Post
This has been puzzling me lately, and I figured that some of the tech guys here at EN World could maybe clue me in on what's happening.

I use Windows Messenger for Windows XP Professional. I have a Wireless internet connection so I'm online pretty much anytime my computer is turned on. However, for some strange reason, Windows Messenger signs out any time my computer goes into screen saver or standby mode. It also seems to happen if I spend any significant amount of time playing World of Warcraft or other games.

Anybody have any idea how I could fix this problem?

You mean Microsoft Messanger?

Yeah, that kicks me off all the time, even if I'm active, and I use Trillion to log into it. I think there's a timeout on their service.

Except my brother dosen't have the same problem with his for some reason. When he logs into Windows Messenger, it dosen't log him off unless he disconnects from the internet, which is why I believe this might be an issue with my system settings or router.

Try using MSN Messenger instead of Windows Messenger. They are two separate programs. You can d/l MSN Messenger here.

Thanks for the advice. I downloaded it earlier today and haven't experienced any disconnect problems. :)
