Winnipeg Gameday - Come Sign Up!

Darth,

I think what Nyaricus is looking at dong is basically setting up an event where players can meet together and form a group for hte afternoon to play a pre-determined module run by volunteer DMs. No long term group commitment required, but if you like the people you meet you can set something up long term.

I should make one other note on this thread.

The owner of Gameknight, who goes by The Beer Baron over at Maxminis (don't know if he posts here or not), is very good at providing space for games (he has a basement with 7-8 tables), and is always open to trying new games. Besides D&D Minis and SW Minis there are also regular SW RPG games, Pirates of the Spanish Main, Dreamblade, D&D RPG and other stuff going on at his shop.

Something to think about for scheduling.

Cheers :)

Really now? Well, if he's willing to host this, that'd be great! 7-8 tables means ~35-40 people could play, maybe a bit more or a bit less depending on space, of course. That has major potential!

Omand, could you do me a favour and direct The Beer Baron to this thread, and ask if he'd be willing to host that? Thanks so much!

Hello,

Nyaricus, I was in touch with The Beer Baron, and he is potentially interested in hosting. He asked me to ask you to contact him directly at his store to work out details.

http://www.gameknight.ca/

All the contact information you need is on that web site, ask for Scott at the store.

Having said all of that, I know that I will be busy every Saturday in November working, so that while I would love to help out more and play, I will not be able to make it.

I will, of course, lend all possible moral support.

Cheers :)

Omand, sorry to hear you won't be able to come out - at least there's always next year :)

I will definitly get in contact with TBB tonight - thank you for all your help there! Hopefully this will work out and allow us to have a good time :D

cheers,

Hey guys,

Just noticed this thread and I thought I'd drop in. While I can't guarantee that I can attend a Saturday, Winnipeg Game Day, I can tell you that I would try. It would all depend on my work schedule.

I've heard really good things about the guys at GameKnight, and I've visited the store a few times. Unfortunately, they don't carry enough stuff to please my "Impulse Buyer" side, so it's not my store of choice.

I'll keep following the thread.

Well I can't say for sure if I'll be available on either of those weekends (things are changing for me at work right now), but I'll run it up the flagpole with my group to see who salutes. Sounds like fun anyway!

Bonus is the fact that Game Knight is pretty much down the street from my appartment.

:D

I'm close to Osborne and Jubilee, so it's a halfling skiprock's throw away for me as well :)

---

On another note: if a Saturday gameday leaves us a bit high and dry (I already see quite a few note being able to show up) what other days are good? Friday Night? etc?

Saturday is probably still the best bet for me, but I'll likely be working one in three weekends starting in November or December. It's all kind of up in the air right now.
