Anyone catch any dirt on Winter Fantasy 2005? Is that still going to be in New Jersey this year?

I caught a poll on the RPGA site (after it was finished, unfortunately) where they were asking for which venue in Washington, D.C. they should choose. I have no idea what the choices were, but it seems it will be in D.C. next year.

That's good for me, because I can make D.C. in a day trip if I want (New Jersey might have been closer, but I didn't hear about it this year's until too late for me to make arrangements).

I caught a dead poll too, but I wasn't sure what that was for. DC is a bit farther for us (we're in PA), but that's definitely doable. There's a lot around the area as well, so that should be a good venue.

I'm just glad we don't have to drive for 10+ hours. Seems like the East Coast always gets the shaft with major gaming conventions. I'm glad Winter Fantasy will still be in our neck of the woods.

BTW, the poll had two options:
- January 13-16, in downtown DC
- February 10-13, in Alexandria VA (Crystal City, very close to Reagan National Airport and the Pentagon)

From what I've read on the RPGA Gamemaster list, the February date / location was a landslide winner. However, the hotel they were looking at is suddenly booked for that date. So, they're still trying to iron out the details.

My money's on the Alexandria site, though I wouldn't even hazard a guess as to the exact weekend.

I'd be thrilled with either of these, although the Alexandria location would be my first choice. Glad to see a nice sized convention coming to the area. I'm happy to drive 1 3/4 hours to DC, and I've got plenty of places to crash afterwards. :)
