Wisdom vs Intelligence

[...]True, or false? :)

Neither, nor, but... ;)

... as cleric you get domain spells/day and can spontaneously cast cure/inflict spells. As wizard you are longing for more slots/day. Upping INT to get bonus spells would be my choice to get access to a wider selection of spells prepared/day.

Kind regards

No, what you do is Wiz5/Mindbender1/Ur-Priest 2/MT10/something else two. That way you get telepathy, and you know that's more fun, anyway. At 18th level you're CL 16 for Wiz, 20 for Ur-Priest.

You won't get enough skill points unless you have int 18, though... even then, you'll be giving up a whole lot of skill points.

The Ur-Priest does gain caster level from other classes class levels not other classes caster levels!

That's 2 from Wizard, 0 from Mindbender and 0 (additional) from Mystic Theurge, which counts as Ur-Priest levels in terms of caster level and adds the full 10 levels, of course.

Caster Level 14th, and therefore unable to cast 8th and 9th level spells. ;)

You're caster level 17 for Ur-Priest.

Ur-Priest itself has no progression beyond 10th until epic levels as it's only a 10 level class, but it does add 1/2 of levels in other spellcasting classes to calculate its effective caster level. (Wiz 5 = +2, Mindbender 1 = +0, MT 10 = +5).

Edit: Heh, Thanee got it at the same time I did, and she's right on the MT not contributing because it's directly advancing the Ur-Priest.

Caster level 14 for Ur-Priest. 2 from Ur, +10 from MT, +2 from Wiz 5, +0 from Mindbender 1. Casting spells as an Ur-Priest 10, on that class's spell progression chart.

So, get an 18 Int :D Or, go Wiz 2/Human Paragon 3/Mindbender1/etc. Sack a caster level for +2 to Int, some HP, and the skill set you need for Mindbender.

Yeah, for the skills Human Paragon or Able Learner would work well, altho, sacrificing a caster level is probably not the best idea, if you want to go Mystic Theurge, so Able Learner might be the smarter way. It's a very good feat for a high Int person, anyways.

I don't have CD with me, so I guess I'm wrong about Ur-Priest. If it's caster level doesn't work in the way I described, how is it broken, then? I mean, it's powerful, yes, but it doesn't seem that much different from a "regular" mystic theurge.

Because of the higher spell levels you gain. :)

The combination isn't really broken, the Ur-Priest itself is broken. ;)
