wish or true resurrection?

The golem enters the king´s chamber. This event triggers a magic mouth. The mouth utters a command word which ends the spell temporal stasis.
I made a mistake. :( A magic mouth can not utter a command word for triggering a magic item, etc.

Just my 2 cents

G'day

The obvious course for the lizardking is to take refuge in Temporal Stasis, depending on Dispel Magic to get out.

The less obvious but safer recourse is to Imprisonment, depending on Freedom to come back.

A problem that the PCs can thug their way out of with the aid of two Freedom spells should be fairly easy to come up with.

Why not make the iron golem a weird awakened golem (I think that's the variety). Lizard King goes to burial, builds a big bad iron golem and then pushes most of his soul into the golem...to be completed when and if someone comes into his tomb to plunder/rescue him. Making the lizard king a wizard actually capable of making his own golem and incarnating himself sort of means you don't have to worry about the rods at all. I'm not looking at my books right now, but I don't see why he shouldn't be able to Wish his Queen alive and then have her fix him up after he's taken care of anyone who might want to take his boots.

Besides, magic immunity and spell tossing combined in a big brute of a body (probably shaped like an immense stylized version of the king) is EVIL.
