Wishlist for Videogames

If you scroll down a little in the sub-forum, you can see my thread where I ramble on about what I want in an Eberron CRPG, hehehe...

Lots of games for PC I want, I won't list them though for the moment. What I would really like to see thought is some new info on Stardock's Society and their Fantasy 4X.

I like this list, but have to comment on the specifics.

- the next Atelier game (anything from the series: Iris, Lily, something new, whatever) The Ar Tonelico series, which is rooted in Atelier Iris, is getting a sequel, and there is a series being introduced by the same developer called Mana Khemia, which looks a lot like Atelier Iris.
Awesome. Ar Tonelico was great - is the sequel on the PS2? I did indeed see the announcement for Mana Khemia (in North America in March!), so that went immediately onto my "to buy" list.

- Front Mission 6+
Did Front Mission 5 ever even get released in the US? That needs to happen.
Sadly, no (that's why I added it into my "finish up on the PS2" list in my first post). Definitely needs to come out here.

- the next Tales game(s)
Do you mean Tales of Innocence for the DS, or Tales of Symphonia 2 for the Wii? Both are coming soon.
Fantastic! (Less so for the Wii, but oh well. Would rather see it on the PS3.)

PS3: White Knight Chronicles and Valkyrie of the Battlefield: The Gallian Chronicles.
These - especially White Knight Chronicles - look like they'll be amazing.

I'd love to see Fallout 3 through 10. Actually, I'd just be happy if Fallout 3 turns out to be good.

An updated version of Wing Commander would rock. Or, a Battlestar Galactica version of Wing Commander. Just switch cats for toasters.

A lot of people are mentioning Wing Commander. I have to agree, but in more general terms. I'd love to see a new, great fighter pilot sim a la Wing Commander or the X-wing games. They've sort of gone the way of the dinosaur and a revival would be pretty awesome.

I think Wing Commander gets mentioned alot (just a guess) is because it had cool story and a little bit of roleplaying stuff to go with it. As I recall, the X-wing games didn't really have the story elements.

The thing which was really cool about wing commander (and which x wing completly missed) was that if you failed a mission there was no "retaking" the mission - you had to live with the consequences. Dead wingmen, inferior ships and ultimately "backs to the wall" scenarios.

X-wing failure just meant that you retook the mission. The story didn't continue until you completed the mission. Completely destroyed any sense of involvement in the story for me.

Cheers

I echo many of the RPG wishes here.

I'll add: Rock Band needs to let you play with your band in tour mode over the net. I really hope that gets patched in sooner rather than later. :)

I hope Fallout 3 turns out to be as good as Fallout 1 and 2. I also wish GTA IV will be released to PC. I have played Vice City and San Andreas on PC and it would not feel the same gaming on a console.

These are "boring" wishes though, so here's a wish for something that doesn't exist, as far as I know:

Imagine the biggest, baddest weapons from all the games you have ever played. Imagine the Rail Gun from Quake, the Big F Gun from Doom, the Bozar from Fallout 2, the double lightsaber from the Star Wars games. Now imagine you have all of them. On a sunny, shining day, sitting in a small fishing boat, in a small pond. Now just add fish.

Ever since I was young and played the first Quake video game, I have always wanted to fish with a railgun. Salmon, shark, doesn't matter.

Check out the X series of games. It's a bit more of a Sandbox space sim with economical elements, so it's more reminicent of Privateer, but it's still a good space sim at it's core. X3 was put out 2 years ago, and is a fantastic game.
