How do you store them ?
Are they organized in a word processor ?
Printed in a book ?
Kept as links in a browser ?
Are they organized at all ?
I keep them in a big cage. The chaotic ones mill around a lot, but the lawful guys just sit there. ;)

I voted zero, but its not entirely correct- I have 2 threads here bookmarked, each with one race in them. One is a conversion of Palladium Wolfen to D20, and another is for "Celirians"- a race of reptiles.

I don't use them as written- I use them for reference.

When I was running a home-brew campaign, I made up a few custom monsters to fill a certain role in my campaign. Probably 5-10, which I have archived away on my harddrive. If I came across a monster on the net that I thought would meet my needs, I downloaded it and stored it in a Word document. All in all, I probably have 20 or so monsters on my harddrive that can't be purchased in a book somewhere, not all of which have seen actual play.

Zero. I have never and probably will never use a monster someone's written up and posted on the Internet. I'm just not interested in sifting through the chaff - at worst, if I'm concerned about the quality of a published monster book, I can seek out reviews of the book in question.

Under a hundred here:

1. Sean Reynolds' Barsoom (ERB) critters. I'm adding these to Mars pdf I bought. Well, adding them to the campaign, not the pdf.

2. The Aliens (Ripley aliens) monster stats and used them in Traveller T20 and Star Wars D20.

3. There were some others like the Alu-Demon, Fairy Dragon and the like that were converted to 3.x before WotC did them. Though I don't know they did the Fairy Dragon yet.

Edit: Storage...they are in a 3" binder and saved on the hard drive.

Thanks

Nowadays, I mostly just use the Creature Catalogue when the need arises... which is rarely.

I have a 3 or four inch binder full of creatures, plus an inch thick manila folder of monsters, mostly from the CC. I've probably got half of the MMII and MMIII for free (I printed them out back when I lived with my parents at home).

I have exactly one homebrew creature that I did not make myself. It's a 3e edition of the Brownie. I am still baffled as to why WotC didn't include this in the MM.

I've got a bunch of Dragon mags and several printed monster manuals - both WOTC and others. That's enough for me. Besides, it's easier to just take an existing monster and change the description, keeping the mechanics the same, than it is to create new or comb the 'Net looking for what I need.
