Wizard Feat Selection

Well, without any knowledge of the spells you cast, schools you've taken, or great deal of info on your character, all I can say is to take Metamagic School Focus (Complete Mage) on one (or both) of your Spell Focuses. Taking that feat should make Quicken and Twin Spells a bit more low cost for you 3 times per day without reducing the versatility I assume you're trying to have. If you mix that with the Residual Magic feat (also Complete Mage), you can potentially double up on that low cost and gain a bunch of free metamagic spells if you tend to cast spells twice in a row. Battle Caster (Complete Arcane) also works pretty nicely if your DM likes to kill mages, however you need to be proficient with armor.

Thanks again for your good advice, it is very much appreciated.

However, this time, my question (see above posts) was more specific regarding which spells to select for spell mastery (and, most importantly, for uncanny forethought).

So far, I've come up with Limited Wish, Greater Dispelling and Greater Teleport. Maybe Polymorph or Shapechange. That leaves me with three or four more choices to make.

Which ones would you take?

Take note though, a literal reading of said feat allows you to cast any spell you know as a full-round action, even if its casting time is longer. So you may want to consider spells with really long casting times such as greater geas Get ready to dodge flying DMGs if you bring this up with your DM though. :p

Especially if the DM has read the errata, which fixed that. :)

Ah, my apologies. Personally, I'd take Greater Dispel for sure. From a defensive point of view, a limited wish best used to to remove harmful effects which usually overlap with what Greater Dispel can remove and many of the big time pains that limited wish might cure and Greater Dispel couldn't are things that can don't need immediate attention. As for Greater Teleport, it's wickedly useful and annoyingly BS when a spotlight stealing munchkin gets hold of it. Wise Sage:"I need you to bring this letter to my good friend on the top of Dragon Mountain, but be ca-" Johny McSpellcaster: "Give me a map and detailed directions." Wise Sage: "Well, of course, here you go. This should-" Johny McSpellcaster: "(I use Greater Teleport to the exact location, deliver the letter, and teleport back.) Reward please!" But for other purposes than that, Greater Teleport is usually something you'd probably wait to use until you get out of battle.

Greater Dispel, however, has the functions limited wish with the offensive capablities of battlefield control and counterspelling. Killing an evil wizard safely often starts with a dispel magic check.

Yes, and thanks again. However, Greater Dispel, Limited Wish and Greater Teleport have already been on my list.

My high INT allows me to select 7, so that leaves me with four to choose.

My question was, what spells would you choose for the remaining open slots (i.e., in addition to the ones I suggested)?

Thanks for your ideas!
