Wizard powers compiled by school

It's almost certain to be. While you CAN do a lot more with the Elements than just blast things, you have to be more creative, and it's much easier just to keep making wizards work like WoW's instead of actually make them feel like Merlin.
With the Elemental Chaos being the 4e version of Limbo, and with the Primordials having created the world, I think the case can be made for some Transmutation spells in the Elemental Heroes book.

Just my opinion, I didn't work on it.

Oh absolutely. Heck, the elemental classes I'm working on have polymorph powers, used on enemies, allies, or themselves. However, I have no faith left to spend on WotC's treatment of anything remotely new.

Sadly, I don't see a whole lot coming from Heroes of the Elemental Chaos but more Evocations. I hope that I'm wrong.
I agree that Evocation will be well-represented in HotEC, but as the EC is a plane of constant, roiling change, I can see Transmutation being in there.

I'd like to see the "classic" AD&D schools fleshed out more fully - let's see more Transmutations and Abjurations. Let's see Conjuration get its own school benefits for Mages.
I agree! Because the Elemental Chaos is the wellspring of creation and some conjurations involve creating thing by pure magic, I could see Conjuration as being in the HotEC. I've got my fingers crossed!

I'm not sure what to think about Abjuration ... I do think it's iconic, but I wonder if Abjurers wouldn't work better as a leader build for the wizard, like how slayers are a striker build of fighter. It would be a wizard who specializes in protective magic, utilizing Evocation, Illusion, Necromancy, or what have you to protect his charges.

Divinations are really the province of rituals, so they don't really need to be added to in terms of powers, IMO.
Agreed. Although, I could see some Divination magic as providing buffs, extra attacks, and so on in combat. A diviner could be a lot like a lazy warlord or pacifist cleric - not attacking much by themselves, but providing aid to others.

It's not as bad when you consider the smattering of powers from the new Red Box, however, they were not included in this list for whatever reason (they are in the Compendium though).
