Wizard Spell-weaving

I find that the wizard needs an option to increase the controller aspect of the class. All the controller powers are defined in its powers, but there are no inherent bonusses in the class like strikers and leader's have. It's single target damage also seems to be rather poor, exept when a daily is used wich can be sustained.
So i created an extra option for the wizard that can be used with a minor action. I do realize this renders some spells such as ray of frost quite useless, but the wizard will gain more options with less spells.

[FONT=&quot]Through intense study of magic, the wizard has learned to imbue his spells with additional effects. The Wizard may spend a minor action to add one of the spell-weaving effects to his next attack spell. Spell-weaving can only affect one target per attack, even if the spell attacks multiple targets.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Spell-weaving effects:[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Burning Embers[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]The target takes 2 ongoing damage(save ends). The damage is of the same type as the attack spell(fire, poison, etc) and doesn’t stack with itself. At 11th level, this damage increases to 4. At 21st level, it increases to 6 [/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Binding Chains[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]The target is slowed until the end of your next turn.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Bludgeoning Force[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]You push the target one square.[/FONT]


I'm not sure what the power level of the wizard is and maybe this will make them to strong. Does anyone who has played the wizard or has one in his/her group any comments? Do i need to take away something if i add this to the class features of the wizard?

This looks like a good idea. Are there more options available than what you've listed or is that all?

If more options are in the works, then perhaps it would make a good Paragon Tier feat otherwise it could be for any level (working really well in lower levels, and weakening as you level up).
 

I was thinking about a power that makes difficult terrain, but it will substract to much from the existing spells that will give that effect. Instead i made a feat to lengthen the duration of any existening spell effect.

Heroic Feat:
Lingering Arcana
Prerequisites: Wizard, Spell-weaving
Benefit: You can spend a minor action to extend the duration
of any effect created by a wizard spell or spell-weaving that would otherwise end at the end of your current turn. The effect instead ends at the end of your next turn.

Paragon Tier feat
Expert Spell-Weaving
Prerequisites: Wizard, Spellweaving
Benefit: You can place two different spell-weaving effects on one Wizard spell with a minor action.

Cool ideas.
I don't think this would be a problem at lower levels.

Mind if I throw an idea in?

Elemental Safety
Allies within your blast area gain resistance 5+Intelligence to your spells type until the end of your next turn.
