Wizards press relase on the main EN world page today

The press relase still says the new figures are 40mm- 65mm in scale? If that is true I will not be getting any, those are way too big to go with my other figs.

Don't worry, it's just a typo. The miniatures are actually 28-30mmm

The measurements cover the large figs and I believe are measured from bottom of the bases.

Can someone explain to me why they are Randomly assorted? Good grief, if I wanted random colectable mini's I'd go buy Mage Knight.

I want mini's that are suitable for MY characters and MY campaign.

"Hmmm.. gotta get ready for tonight, I have that new Wizard NPC with red hair, and then they are going to fight those Flinds... yea, I'll buy 10 boxes of mini's and hope that I get the ones I need!"


Yea, right... makes more sense to buy unpainted mini's that way...

They want to try to tap into the Mage Knight market, the "starters" also have rules to use the minis as a tabletop wargame. U agree with you, making them random is STUPID.

Radomizing like this is common with a lot of things and while of dubious value to the customer, potentially of considerable value to the seller as we go buying pack after pack to get that one special item.
It's possible it will lose them money, but I doubt it, which means it is not stupid at all.
