Woe is Me! Shadowforce Archer Cancelled!

I can't believe they cancelled Shadowforce Archer. This is one of the coolest campaign setting ever made for *any* d20 game, let alone Spycraft.

Although, I can't say we all shouldn't have seen it coming. After all - the Interactive Serials hadn't been updated in over a year and AEG has a Spycraft CCG in the works which will probably sell better than the Spycraft RPG.

Hopefully, AEG will be good enough to release all of the Interactive Serial scenarios and all of the other as-yet unpublished information, even if unedited on their website. Barring that, hopefully some enterprising individual or company can figure out how to license the Shadowforce Archer campaign setting.

It's very hard to keep a game line going these days. I think SFA had a mighty fine run and has provided a lot of enjoyment.

I to am sorry to see it go, I just wish I could say I was surprised.

Although I've not actually played or run a game of SFA I am a self confessed Spycraft addict. I too will have to go out and get The Shop to complete my collection. Its a shame we probably won't get the other promised books in print, but maybe a PDF release?? I believe there were 3 books in the pipeline, although you'd have to check the AEG boards to get their names as I can't remember them.

Ah well, at least Living Spycraft seems to be a huge hit in the UK after Conception 2004! That should see sales rising a little for AEG.

Wow. Can't believe they closing shop on their official Spycraft setting. So what are they going to do? The Spycraft product line needs a setting to play in.

BTW, is there truth to the rumor that Spycraft v2.0 (i.e., Spycraft II: Gamefinger ... coming soon to a tabletop nearest you!) will stop carrying the d20 logo and become a self-contained, standalone OGL-based product?

wow, a new edition already? the game hasn't even been out three years yet.

given the flak WOTC has gotten for 3.5e and the revised Star Wars, i wonder what the reaction to this is going to be...

I didn't know about the 2nd version either. I thought the errata and MRD took care of a lot of things. They are huuuge after all. Maybe they will just be throwing the updates into a binded form for people to buy?

AEG is putting out more books for the core line, specifically on how to easily make your own campaign. Agency is showing up in stores right now, Mastermind follows soon after, and then Freelancers later this year. They also have a couple of military-organization books for later in the year, U.S Militaries and World Militaries.

I'm really looking forward to these books, as I run a custom game and the added support will really help.
