I've just remembered that Kingsley is now in his 80's, he's doing really well, considering his 'maturity'

Well, yes, but it's more than that for Simon. He's a total acting nerd. The fact that he has so much knowledge in his head that he overthinks everything is a major plot point. He loses his role on AHS because of it. He loses his girlfriend because of it. He almost blows his Wonder Man audition because of it.

Yup, he's an extreme example though, in my experience, not out of range.

I'm a big fan of Simon Williams in the comics. His solo 90's series is a really underrated comic book which I loved reading. I'm fully aware of the MCU being different but I think this is the weakest TV series Marvel has produced.

I found a lot of it boring and tedious, and I get the subtext and the acting as a craft mick takes, but it could have been four episodes instead of eight. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Ben Kingsley and Josh Gad were superb and it was great to see Kingsley hamming up every scene. And the Doorman episode was also good, but on the whole it just felt a bit "Meh". I was expecting a lot more action. Maybe I'll feel different viewing it a second time but at the moment I just feel a little disappointed.

I hadn’t been paying much attention to the MCU lately, but this thread convinced me to give Wondernan a chance, and I’m glad I did! I like that the show did its own thing and didn’t try to follow the conventional superhero formula.
