I could easily look them up if I was thinking of watching a TV show about them.

Bully for you. Like I said, I don't do that. So, that's why I didn't read about it before watching the show. Not really sure why you feel the need to bang on about this. Sorry. I guess? I'm sorry that I didn't do my homework before watching a show? I'm sorry that I thought that a show in a Marvel genre starring a super hero would be an action show? How silly of me to think that I suppose.

In any case, this show was not for me. I was looking for a fun action show and got some weird drama about characters I found entirely unsympathetic and did not care about in the slightest. Kinda like picking up a Star Wars show and there are zero aliens, space ships or fighting. I would be totally off base thinking that any of those things would be in a Star Wars show, I guess. Silly me for thinking that something titled Wonder Man - an actual Avenger from the comic books that has, on occasion gone toe to toe with the Hulk among others - would be a satire about Hollywood acting.

That actual avenger has also on occasion had storylines about acting. There was going to be one that solely focused on it, but a shakeup happened and the new creative team didn't want to pursue it.

It’s a major criticism of the MCU movies that they have largely focused on “fun action adventure” and ignored a lot of the depth of the source material.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I have no problems with different. Loki was great. WandaVision, OTOH, did have rather a lot of action in it. But, again, no, I'm a HUGE fan of Moon Knight and Jessica Jones. No, I'm not all in on action and whatnot. It's just that this particular show did nothing for me.

It's kinda funny how this has become a rather lengthy conversation. I started out by watching about fifteen or twenty minutes of hte first episode and turning it off. Saw this thread and, on the strength of the recommendations here, gave it another go. Watched the first three episodes (I'll be honest, I didn't make it all the way through the third) and realized that the show was not for me.

At no point have I said that it was bad.

But apparently, I'm supposed to do a bunch of homework before I watch a TV show? Meh. It popped up in my Disney+ feed, I gave it a shot and didn't like it. End of story. For some strange reason though, I'm getting repeatedly challenged about not liking something. I gave it a fair shake. Didn't like it. Not really sure why this conversation has somehow become a thing.

I mean, it takes two to tango. If the conversation is bothering you, do what you did with the show and disengage! If you keep replying, people will keep replying back.

There is far too much TV available to not do homework before sitting down to watch something. And a 2 minute google search is hardly a bunch. A lot less work than watching two and a half episodes.
