Wooden dice sets?

I would try to work with toybuilders.com
They use 3d-printers to make whatever you want, and they even have a machine that puts out objects (actually layers of paper glued together) that look and feel like wood, and can even be carved and shaped like wood. I'm going to ask them how much it would cost for a set of dice.

Wooden dice would rock. I can see why they wouldn't be popular for "guaranteed fair" applications given natural wood's (is there any other kind?) potential density variations, but I'd sure love a set just for show.

Cool idea!

Mine are unvarnished, so I like to think I've got bit of my palm-sweat in each one. Sort of gross I know, but it also keeps the squirrels away.

Mine neither. Although the red painted Hero Quest ones sorta have 'some' sealing around them with regards to the paint layer. I think of the palm sweat as putting my mojo into the dice so they only work for me! :) And you just can't do that with hard-plastic dice...

(. . .) I have a set of pine d6's (non-varnished) that are the lightest, bounciest, luckiest dice I've ever rolled.

It's A Festivus Miracle! :)

(I'll keep my ear to the ground for you and bookmark this thread.)

i made my own set of wooden dice over 25 years ago.

my dog ate them.

i recovered the d4, d6, and d8. but the d12 and d20 were lost to the backyard somewhere i'm sure.
