There are two reasons:

Reason 1: Still live with my father. Thus, living costs are *way* down.
Reason 2: Still live with my father. Thus, living costs are *way* down.

I know that technically, this is only one reason, but it was such a big one, it was worth mentioning twice! :)
Ah, Red Dwarf quotes (sorta) for the win :)

You're quite right, but, alas, there's never been a girl for me. Not that I haven't wished there had been (or will be) one...

It is almost assured that if I really like a girl, she will already be in a loving relationship. I say almost because I live in hope. :)
Must resist sheep jokes. Must resist sheep jokes. ;)

My recent games I've been getting from Mind Games in Melbourne, which has very good prices - http://www.mindgamesmelbourne.com/T-ISTOCK.DAT

I try to get other people to pick them up for me - or occasionally order online.

Cheers!

Well that would explain things then. Living with your parent(s) certainly has its advantages when it comes to living expenses. My disposable income to income ratio was probably 3 times higher back then compared to now. Unfortunately my income was also about a third of what it is now.

Ended up not being able to run the Shackled City session due to two of the players being ill, but got the rest of the weekend games in. :)

Friday: One D&D session - Savage Tide

Saturday: One afternoon and evening of gaming with Randy (his wife took his children down to Melbourne for the day) - Twilight Struggle; Balloon Cup; Tide of Iron; Goa; Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation; and San Juan

Sunday: One afternoon and evening gaming with Randy, Rich, Meg and Craig - Memoir '44; Ra; RoboRally; Ticket to Ride: Europe; Twilight Imperium 3e; and Alhambra.

No more big gaming weekends for a little while - in a fortnight I'm off to see Othello in Melbourne, performed by John Bell's company.

Cheers!

Merric,
With respect to the comment on your lifestyle - I'm married with one baby girl. I wouldn't trade that but I DO ENVY YOUR FREEDOM! My free time has evaporated like water on hot cement since the baby came along. Enjoy your freedom.

By the way, I just picked up TI3 myself. I haven't played it before (and I don't know when I will). Let us know how it goes. Is it really as long as they say? The basic game without options looks simple enough and I've heard that the SE expansion has a mechanism to make the starting moves go by faster.

By the way, I never thought I'd get hooked up either but then one day it just happened so enjoy your gaming time while you have it.

It's sorta long, but not really that bad. I think the game took us about 4 hours, but that was a first game - I expect it's really not that long for a "long" game.

You can find my full report on the game here:

I will. And if someone comes into my life, I'll be very surprised (and happy).

Cheers,
Merric
